Kiloo Games Announces Closure
According to reports from Game Developer, renowned Danish game developer Kiloo Games is ceasing operations. Although the company has not made an official announcement, multiple employees have taken to LinkedIn to share the news, revealing that the entire team has been notified of their termination, effective by the end of the month. With over 55 staff members, as stated on the company's website, this move marks a significant shift. Kiloo Games is perhaps most notable for co-developing the wildly popular endless runner Subway Surfers, which has garnered over 4 billion downloads globally since its release in 2012. The company's involvement with Subway Surfers concluded in 2020, with SYBO assuming full responsibility for the game thereafter. Kiloo's extensive portfolio encompasses a wide range of mobile games, including titles for Lego, Happy Tree Friends, and Hugo the Troll, as well as the mobile adaptation of Kane & Lynch: Dead Men. More recent proprietary titles include Metroland, Stormblades, Spellbinders, and Smash Champs. Founded 23 years ago in Aarhus, Denmark, Kiloo Games has established itself as a stalwart in the mobile gaming industry.
