Xbox Games Showcase Unveils Fable and Star Wars Outlaws
The Xbox Games Showcase kicked off with a sneak peek at Playground Games' Fable, featuring British comedian Richard Ayoade, although no release date was announced. The game will be available on Game Pass at launch. A cinematic trailer for Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Massive Entertainment, was also shown, with more details to be revealed at the Ubisoft Forward presentation. Microsoft announced a new 1TB black Xbox Series S, set to launch on September 1 for $349, addressing player feedback for increased storage. Xbox boss Phil Spencer stated that console supply has been significantly increased. The showcase featured 11 first-party titles, including the first games from Compulsion Games and inXile Entertainment since their acquisition by Microsoft, as well as 14 third-party titles. Highlights include Bethesda's Starfield, Fallout 76, and The Elder Scrolls Online expansions, Forza Motorsport, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and Sea of Thieves' The Legend of Monkey Island expansion. Other notable titles include Hellblade 2, Avowed, and Towerborne. Third-party games featured include 33 Immortals, Metaphor Re Fantazio, Payday 3, Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty expansion, and Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
