Diablo 4 Overtakes Zelda as UK Boxed Charts Leader

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has relinquished its top spot in the UK Boxed Charts after a four-week reign. This milestone marks the longest tenure at No.1 for any game in the series. Sales of the Nintendo Switch release declined by 36% compared to the previous week. Diablo 4 by Activision Blizzard has taken over as the new No.1, although its boxed retail sales were not exceptionally high, with its launch week figures trailing behind those of Zelda, Hogwarts Legacy, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Resident Evil 4, and Dead Island 2. However, given its popularity on PC, the majority of its sales are expected to be through digital downloads, with the digital data to be released later in the week. Notably, only the console versions of Diablo 4 received a boxed release, with 67% of physical sales attributed to the PS5, 27% to the Xbox Series S and X, and 8% to the PS4. Street Fighter 6, the previous week's major new release, has dropped to No.5 with a 48% decrease in sales. Hogwarts Legacy has risen to No.3 despite a 27% drop in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has moved up to No.4 with a 23% decline in sales. FIFA 23 has fallen out of the top five to No.6, experiencing a 50% decrease in sales, coinciding with the end of the football season. The sales of PlayStation games, consoles, and bundles have seen a significant boost, particularly for first-party titles, with God of War Ragnarok jumping four places to No.7 (sales up 67%), Gran Turismo 7 at No.9 (sales up 66%), and Spider-Man: Miles Morales leaping 23 spots to No.16 (up 95%).
