Sony Absent from Gamescom

Sony has confirmed it will not participate in the upcoming Gamescom event. According to a report by GamesMarkt, cited by VGC, the company has opted not to have a presence on the show floor. This marks the fourth consecutive year Sony has skipped the event, with its last appearance dating back to 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Gamescom 2023 opening night, scheduled for August 22, will be hosted by Geoff Keighley, known for the Summer Game Fest. While Sony will be absent, Nintendo has announced its return to the event, also marking its first appearance since 2019. Gamescom 2023 is set to take place in Cologne, Germany, from August 23 to 27.
