Twitch Reverses Ad Policy Changes

Following intense backlash from its community, Twitch has scrapped its recently introduced ad guideline updates. The initial changes, which were announced on June 6, would have restricted streamers' ability to monetize their content by limiting embedded ads and imposing strict logo size requirements. The reversal means that streamers will continue to have control over their sponsorship deals and will not be restricted from forming direct relationships with brands. Twitch has emphasized its commitment to working with its community to create a better experience, acknowledging the importance of transparency and open communication. The rollback also spares charity organizations, such as Games Done Quick, from potential revenue losses. The platform's current revenue model remains unchanged, with streamers receiving 50% of subscriber-generated funds and select creators enjoying a 70-30 revenue split, while Twitch does not collect a share of ad and donation revenue.
