Introducing Apple's Vision Pro: A Revolutionary AR Headset
At its WWDC keynote, Apple unveiled the highly anticipated Vision Pro AR headset, marking a significant milestone in the tech industry. The device resembles traditional VR headsets, featuring goggles, a head strap, and multiple cameras, as well as IR lights, sensors, and an external battery pack. However, its transparent goggles set it apart, allowing users to interact with virtual windows and interfaces while still being aware of their surroundings. The headset can transition between transparent and opaque modes, providing an immersive experience when needed. Control is achieved through hand gestures, eye tracking, and voice commands, with optional support for game controllers. Apple has partnered with Disney and Unity to create engaging experiences, including 3D movies and interactive apps. The device prioritizes user privacy, featuring an Optic ID system that unlocks the headset using iris recognition and ensures that user gaze data remains private. With a starting price of $3,499, the Vision Pro is set to launch in the US early next year, with international releases to follow later.
