GamesAid Charity Achieves £120,000 in Fundraising for Partner Organizations

The GamesAid charity, which supports the gaming industry, has successfully raised £120,000 over the past year, spanning 2022 and 2023. This total was announced during the Barclays Games Frenzy event in London and marks a significant increase of over £20,000 from the combined totals of 2020/2021 and 2021/2022. With the pandemic no longer hindering fundraising efforts, GamesAid has resumed hosting various activities and events, resulting in a £20,000 donation to each of its six partner charities. The recipients of these donations include: AFK, which provides support to disabled children; Autistica Play, dedicated to raising funds and awareness for autism research; Lifelites, a charity that donates specialist technology to children with life-limiting conditions; Solving Kids Cancer, focused on combating aggressive childhood cancers with low survival rates; The Clock Tower Sanctuary, supporting homeless youth in Brighton & Hove; and Winston's Wish, a charity for childhood bereavement. According to GamesAid co-chair Terry Haynes, "The substantial amount raised is a testament to the generosity and kindness of the UK games sector, and we look forward to the positive impact this will have on our chosen causes."
