Kick Achieves 114 Million Viewership Hours Since January Debut
Kick, the streaming platform, garnered 113.7 million hours of viewership in Q1, as reported by Streams Charts, StreamElements' analytics partner. Upon its launch in January, the platform recorded 12.8 million hours of watch time. The introduction of a mobile app in late March contributed to a 45% increase in viewership, reaching 51.8 million hours in April. The number of active channels also saw a significant boost, growing from 24,000 in March to 67,000 in April, marking a 180% rise. According to StreamElements CEO Gil Hirsch, "The long-term success of a new platform depends on its ability to attract an audience for mid-tier streamers, not just its top stars." Hirsch added, "Kick's beta is demonstrating notable growth in terms of channels and viewers, raising questions about whether the platform will introduce additional features for engagement, monetization, and moderation to sustain its momentum."
