The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Maintains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom secures its second week at the top of the UK boxed charts, experiencing a 73% decline in sales from the previous week. Although this drop may seem substantial, it is not unusual for a highly anticipated game with a strong initial launch. Upon its release, the game achieved the largest boxed launch of the year. After just two weeks, Tears of the Kingdom has surpassed Link's Awakening on Switch and Ocarina of Time 3D on 3DS, claiming the sixth position in the best-selling Zelda games in UK history. The newest release, LEGO 2K Drive, enters the charts at No.7. Its launch may have been impacted by the proximity to the Zelda release, but LEGO games typically demonstrate long-term sales potential. The game's physical sales were divided among platforms, with 37% on PS5, 31% on Nintendo Switch, 18% on Xbox, and 14% on PS4. A promotional offer on Pokémon Scarlet from Amazon has propelled the game back into the Top Ten, with a 124% increase in sales, moving it up 12 places to No.6. Meanwhile, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the predecessor to Tears of the Kingdom, remains at No.8 with a 21% sales increase. Skyward Sword HD has also seen a significant 342% rise in sales, attributed to a discounted price of £15 at UK supermarket Asda, placing it at No.14.
