Xbox Enforcements Surge to 10.2 Million in Second Half of 2022

Microsoft has published its latest Xbox Transparency Report, providing insights into its efforts to combat inappropriate behavior and content on the platform. In the second half of 2022, Xbox enforced 10.19 million actions, a 40% increase from the first half of the year, ranging from account suspensions to content removal. Player reports totaled 24.47 million, with 45% related to user interactions, 41% concerning content, and 11% regarding user-generated content. However, only 2.11 million enforcements were reactive, relying on player reports, while 80% were proactive, leveraging AI-powered moderation tools that assessed over 20 billion human interactions. Notably, 7.51 million enforcements targeted inauthentic accounts, and there was a significant increase in actions against explicit content and referrals to support services. A total of 229,870 players appealed account suspensions, with only 6% being successful.
