Take-Two CEO Criticizes Major Companies for Undermining E3

Take-Two Interactive has historically been a strong advocate for E3, consistently reserving corporate booth space even in years without major game releases. Recently, CEO Strauss Zelnick shared his thoughts on the company's stance on E3 following the cancellation of the 2023 event. Zelnick acknowledged that E3 has served a vital purpose as a platform for media, investors, distribution partners, and enthusiastic consumers. However, he emphasized that the event's continued relevance depends on support from all industry players. Zelnick criticized certain major companies for taking E3 for granted, opting to host their own events in the same location without contributing to the show's success. He stressed that companies must either support E3 or risk its demise. While Zelnick did not specify which companies he was referring to, Electronic Arts, Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony have all adjusted their approach to E3 in recent years, with some opting out of the event or modifying their participation.
