Sony to Reveal Forthcoming PlayStation Lineup in Upcoming Showcase
Sony has confirmed that it will be hosting an online PlayStation Showcase, scheduled to take place the following week, which will unveil a range of upcoming games for its platforms. As per the official PlayStation Blog, the event is set to occur on Wednesday, May 24, at 1pm PT / 4pm ET / 9pm UK. The presentation promises to deliver a host of exciting announcements, featuring new titles not only from PlayStation Studios but also from third-party publishers and independent game developers. The games showcased will be available on both the PlayStation 5 and the PlayStation VR 2 consoles. With a duration of just over an hour, the event will be live-streamed on popular platforms such as YouTube and Twitch. The decision to opt for the 'PlayStation Showcase' title instead of the usual 'State of Play' branding, combined with the event's length, suggests that this may be a more extensive presentation than what is typically expected. Notably, in the wake of E3's absence, Microsoft has also announced its Xbox Games Showcase, scheduled for June 11. This event will be immediately followed by a Starfield Direct, which will focus exclusively on the highly anticipated upcoming Bethesda title.
