Lawsuit Alleges Gender Bias at Super Free Games

A recent lawsuit filed against Super Free Games (SFG) claims the company has a history of discriminatory practices against women. The lawsuit, filed in the San Francisco Superior Court, was initiated by a former employee who was let go after years of allegedly experiencing inequality. Despite her long tenure at the company, dating back to 2016, the former employee asserts that she was repeatedly overlooked for promotions, which were instead given to less qualified male colleagues. The ex-employee eventually secured a managerial position in the marketing department, only to have a male colleague with no marketing experience appointed as her supervisor in 2021. When concerns about gender bias were raised, an internal committee reportedly found that the employee had communication issues and had created mistrust. As a result, she was asked to transfer to a different department, accept a demotion, and a 26% salary reduction. After refusing, she was terminated while pregnant, with the company citing workforce reduction as the reason. The lawsuit also highlights that women make up less than a third of SFG's workforce. According to the former employee, "The company's bias against women is undeniable. Every female staff member has experienced it, and I've seen numerous instances of exclusion and marginalization. I couldn't in good conscience remain silent and allow it to continue."
