Monolith Soft Boosts Employee Salaries

Monolith Soft, the renowned Japanese game developer behind the Xenoblade Chronicles series and a key contributor to the Zelda franchise, has announced a wage increase for all employees and new recruits. This move, which took effect in April 2023, supplements the company's regular salary reviews. Although specific details on the extent of the raises are not provided, the company states that the adjustments are made to align with the current economic climate. As an illustration, the starting monthly salary for new graduates has seen a 22% increase to ¥250,000, approximately $1,818.19. This decision follows similar moves by other industry players, including Sega Sammy and Monolith Soft's parent company, Nintendo, both of which have taken steps to offset Japan's inflationary pressures.
