NetEase Unveils New Development Studio, Anchor Point Studios
NetEase has formally introduced its newest internal development studio, Anchor Point Studios, which will be spearheaded by industry veteran Paul Ehreth. Ehreth, formerly of Smilegate Barcelona and Remedy, where he worked on notable titles such as Alan Wake 2 and Control, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Anchor Point Studios will operate out of Barcelona, Spain, with a secondary office in Seattle, US, focusing on the development of action-adventure games for console and PC platforms. The studio aims to employ up to 100 individuals across Europe and North America, adopting a hybrid work model that combines in-office and remote work. Ehreth expressed his enthusiasm for the venture, stating that the team is eager to establish a strong presence in Barcelona and embark on a creative journey with NetEase Games, leveraging the company's resources and creative freedom to build an expansive, interconnected world that transcends gaming and explores other media formats.
