Four-Day Work Week Gains Popularity Among Game Workers, Survey Reveals

A recent survey by Skillsearch, a recruitment firm specializing in the gaming sector, highlights a significant shift towards more flexible working arrangements. The survey found that a substantial 80% of respondents expressed interest in adopting a four-day work week, with the majority holding positive views about the concept. Furthermore, nearly 80% of participants stated they would actively look for employers offering this arrangement in the future. Notably, only a small fraction of respondents currently work for companies that have implemented four-day work weeks. The survey also indicated a strong preference for remote work, with 92% of respondents expecting to work from home at least one day a week. Additionally, the survey touched on job satisfaction and financial concerns, revealing that almost half of the respondents are considering a job change, and a majority reported a decline in their financial situation over the past year. The survey collected responses from over 2,300 professionals in the games and interactive industries, primarily based in the UK and Western Europe. The UK-specific data showed a significant increase in average salaries, rising by £9,000 from the previous year.
