TreesPlease Tackles Climate Change with Innovative Approach to Gaming

A newly launched game development studio, TreesPlease, has emerged with a mission to encourage players to take action against climate change. Founded in 2019 by CEO Laura Carter, the studio has unveiled its debut game, Longleaf Valley, a free-to-play casual merge game that allows players to earn 'tree tokens' which can be used to plant real trees through the Eden Reforestation Project. With over 350,000 trees already planted, the studio aims to reach one million trees by the end of 2023. Carter emphasizes the importance of creating games that not only raise awareness about climate change but also promote real-world change and 'purposeful play.' The studio's goal is to make a positive impact on the world while creating engaging and enjoyable games for players. With a team of experienced developers and a seed funding of $8 million, TreesPlease is poised to make a significant difference in the gaming industry and beyond.
