UK Boxed Charts See Surge in Mario Games' Popularity

The UK physical Top Ten has seen a significant boost in Mario game sales following the release of the Super Mario Brothers movie. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe has risen to No.2 with a 9% week-on-week sales increase, marking its third consecutive week of growth. Super Mario Odyssey jumped five places to No.5 with a 15% sales improvement, likely due to its bundling with a special Nintendo Switch console. New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe also saw a notable increase, rising seven places to No.10 with a 23% sales boost. Other Mario titles, such as Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and Mario Party Superstars, have also experienced sales rises, with the former seeing a 21% increase and the latter a small 3% uptick. Mario Strikers: Battle League Football re-entered the charts at No.30 with a substantial 111% sales spike, while Luigi's Mansion 3 returned to the charts at No.40 with a 7% sales increase. Meanwhile, Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids games, including Sparks of Hope and Kingdom Battle, have dropped slightly in sales, down 18% and 6% respectively. FIFA 23 remains at No.1 despite a 39% sales drop, and the Resident Evil 4 remake fell to No.3 with a 34% sales decrease. Hogwarts Legacy is now at No.4 with a 32% sales decline. The only new entry in the charts is Cult of the Lamb by Devolver, debuting at No.28.
