He stated that Microsoft's digital threat analysis team has been monitoring efforts by Russian groups, including the private military corporation The Wagner Group, to infiltrate gaming communities and spread information. Smith noted that this phenomenon is not unique to the gaming world, as these groups will find alternative platforms to disseminate information. The leaked documents reportedly contained information about the Ukraine war, and the alleged perpetrator is believed to be a young individual who participated in a gaming group on Discord.
