Microsoft ABK Acquisition Faces Revised Lawsuit from Gamer Group

A coalition of consumers seeking to thwart Microsoft's proposed takeover of Activision Blizzard has refiled their lawsuit against the tech giant. The original suit, filed in December, was dismissed by a California judge due to insufficient allegations. The plaintiffs were given 20 days to revise and resubmit their case, which now includes 73 pages of redacted information from Microsoft's internal documents, such as a strategic memo. The revised lawsuit also details a proposed ten-year agreement between Microsoft and Sony to maintain Activision games on PlayStation, which Sony deemed 'inadequate.' This is compared to a similar ten-year deal Microsoft signed with Nintendo in February. The plaintiffs' lawyers have issued subpoenas to Activision, Nintendo of America, and Sony for additional information. Microsoft's lawyers argue that the original case relied on outdated legal arguments and was filed unnecessarily late. A status hearing is scheduled to take place.
