Nintendo Switch Regains Top Position in Japan's Console Sales for March

In Japan, during the month of March, the Nintendo Switch regained its position as the best-selling console, surpassing the PlayStation 5 which had taken the lead in the previous month. According to Famitsu's retail sales data for the period between February 27 and March 26, the Switch sold a total of 231,000 units across its various models, including the standard, Lite, and OLED versions. In comparison, the PlayStation 5 sold 223,000 units during the same period. Nintendo dominated the software sales with 439,000 boxed titles, significantly outpacing Capcom's 190,000 and Koei Tecmo's 166,000 copies. The top-selling title for the month was Kirby: Return To Dream Land DX, with 174,112 units sold. The newly released Resident Evil 4 remake by Capcom debuted with 89,662 copies sold on the PlayStation 5, while the PlayStation 4 version sold 85,371 copies, securing the second and third positions as top sellers for the month. In terms of physical game unit sales, Nintendo held the largest market share at 31.5%, followed by Capcom at 13.6%, and Koei Tecmo at 12%.
