Google Loses Key Executive Phil Harrison

Phil Harrison, the former Vice President and General Manager at Google, is no longer with the company. Although Google has not officially confirmed this development, Harrison's updated LinkedIn profile indicates that he has moved on. According to a report by Business Insider, Harrison's departure was initially reported to have occurred in January, coinciding with the shutdown of Stadia, despite his profile listing April as his end date at Google. His next destination remains unclear. Harrison had previously announced the closure of Google's streaming service, Stadia, in September 2022. Initially launched in September 2019, Stadia was first unveiled in March 2019. Prior to its shutdown, Google had shifted its focus to third-party titles in February 2021, after discontinuing its internal game development efforts. Harrison joined Google in January 2018, bringing with him 16 years of experience from his tenure at PlayStation, as well as time spent at Atari and Microsoft.
