Electronic Arts Tops Publisher Engagement on Xbox and PlayStation
A recent study by Ampere Analysis reveals that Electronic Arts led the pack as the top publisher in terms of monthly active users on Xbox and PlayStation consoles between September 2022 and January 2023. The findings, which track engagement over this period, show the monthly active user share of the top seven publishers. Notably, Activision Blizzard saw a surge in engagement in November 2022, coinciding with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, while Sony experienced a similar boost with the launch of God of War: Ragnarok. Piers Harding-Rolls, research director at Ampere Analysis, praised Electronic Arts' consistent delivery of active user share across consoles, citing its extensive catalog as a key factor in its strong position on both Xbox and PlayStation. In terms of individual game performance, FIFA 23 took the top spot in engagement, with users playing on 35% of days in February, followed by Final Fantasy 14 with 31% and Genshin Impact with 30%.
