MapleStory Universe by Nexon to Integrate NFTs
Nexon has unveiled plans for MapleStory Universe, enabling users to generate and oversee unique digital assets. According to VentureBeat, this development was announced by project lead Sunyoung Hwang at GDC. The partnership between Nexon and Polygon Labs will facilitate the provision of business and technical support for the upcoming MapleStory title, utilizing Polygon's blockchain technology. "By leveraging Polygon, the leading Web3 gaming protocol, we aim to expand the NFT ecosystem within MapleStory Universe. This collaboration is ideally suited to power the ecosystem," Hwang stated. "We will maintain a close working relationship with the Polygon Labs team to drive the development and marketing of the game." The original MapleStory was launched on PC in 2003, followed by the release of its sequel, MapleStory 2, in 2015.
