The latest State of the Stream report from StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg reveals that Twitch's viewership declined by 8% in February, with a total of 1.64 billion hours watched. In comparison, the platform had reached 1.9 billion hours watched during the same month last year. The top-performing games on Twitch in February included familiar titles such as League of Legends, Grand Theft Auto V, and Valorant. Notably, Warner Bros' Hogwarts Legacy achieved an impressive 50 million hours of viewership within its launch week. The report also highlights the most-watched games on the platform, including League of Legends with 111 million hours, Grand Theft Auto V with 89 million hours, and Valorant with 87 million hours. Furthermore, Hogwarts Legacy accumulated 71 million hours, followed by Counter-Strike: Global Offensive: Warzone, Apex Legends, Minecraft, Dota 2, and Fortnite. Additionally, StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg observed that Kai Cenat's stream generated 43 million hours watched after breaking the record for most Twitch subscriptions within a month. The recent change in leadership, with Dan Clancy taking over as CEO after Emmett Shear's departure, is also noted. As stated by StreamElements CEO Gil Hirsch, "Under Emmett Shear's leadership over the past 16 years, Twitch has established itself as the dominant platform in the gaming livestreaming space. While Twitch remains steady with consistent viewership numbers, it will be interesting to see if the new CEO can generate more momentum and growth for the platform."
