Atari Partners with Fig to Introduce the Atari Game Pool Initiative

Atari, in collaboration with Fig, the gaming division of the Republic platform, has initiated the Atari Game Pool crowdfunding campaign. The campaign seeks to raise between $1 million and $15 million by August 6, with the goal of funding upcoming game titles. Notably, it garnered $100,000 in its first 24 hours. Using the raised funds, Atari plans to collaborate with external developers to create new games based on its extensive library of intellectual properties, including iconic titles such as Pong, Centipede, and Asteroids. The minimum investment required from backers is $500, with a maximum investment of $1 million. The Fig crowdfunding model provides investors with the opportunity to receive payouts based on the commercial success of the final games. A budget of $1 million to $5 million will be allocated to two to three major games, with the aim of generating $10 million to $25 million in revenue. Additionally, four to six smaller projects will receive budgets of $500,000 to $1 million, with sales targets of up to $10 million. Atari is already working in tandem with other creators on new titles for its classic game franchises.
