Microsoft Expands Cloud Gaming Reach with Boosteroid Partnership

Microsoft has entered into a new ten-year agreement to bring its PC games to Boosteroid, a cloud gaming platform, in addition to its own services. This deal also includes the distribution of Activision Blizzard titles, such as Call of Duty, pending the approval of the acquisition. Following a similar agreement with Nvidia's GeForce Now, this partnership underscores Microsoft's commitment to multi-platform gaming. Boosteroid, with its four million global users, allows gamers to stream titles they already own through various platforms, including Windows, Linux, and Android. The company has plans to expand its services to Mac, Chromebooks, and LG TVs. Despite facing challenges, including damage to its offices in Ukraine due to missile attacks, Boosteroid continues to operate and offer its services in several countries. Microsoft views this partnership as a demonstration of its support for Ukraine's software development community and its dedication to making games more accessible across devices. According to Microsoft's vice chair and president, Brad Smith, this partnership is a testament to the company's ongoing efforts to support Ukraine and its developers. Microsoft's CEO of Gaming, Phil Spencer, emphasized the company's belief in the unifying power of games and its commitment to providing gamers with more options to play their favorite titles across various devices.
