UKIE CEO Jo Twist Announces Departure
The UKIE trade organization has announced that its CEO, Jo Twist, will be leaving her position after 11 years, with her departure scheduled for this summer. Twist is set to become the CEO of the British Phonographic Industry, a music industry trade group. In the interim, UKIE's head of commercial and membership, Sam Collins, and strategic project lead, Dan Wood, will manage the organization while a permanent replacement is sought. The ideal candidate is expected to be a visionary leader with strong diplomatic skills, capable of building upon the foundations established by Twist and driving UKIE's growth and ambition in the face of emerging industry challenges. The search for Twist's replacement has begun, with UKIE chair Tim Woodley acknowledging the difficulty of finding a suitable successor but expressing confidence in the organization's senior management team and staff. During Twist's tenure, UKIE has achieved significant milestones, including the introduction of tax breaks for game developers and the adoption of the PEGI rating system. As the tax relief program is currently under review, Twist recently rallied UK developers to provide input and advocate for enhanced government support for the games industry.
