Indielab Launches Nationwide Games Acceleration Program in the UK
Indielab Games has introduced a comprehensive UK-wide acceleration program for the gaming industry, dubbed Indielab Games UK Accelerator 2023. This program is specifically designed to support small to medium-sized game development studios by offering a range of events, seminars, and networking opportunities. The initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between Indielab and several key partners, including Creative Wales, Creative Scotland, InGAME, Glasgow City Council, Scottish Enterprise, and Harbottle & Lewis. The program will be hosted in three major cities: Glasgow, Cardiff, and London, and will commence in May, with modules running through July. Notable industry experts, such as Ella Romanos and Oscar Clark from Fundamentally Games, have been appointed to the delivery team for the Indielab Games UK Accelerator. According to Indielab CEO Victoria Powell, the organization's role is to drive commercial growth, facilitate knowledge sharing, and foster partnerships and investment opportunities. Powell emphasized the organization's long-term commitment to collaborating with studios and the broader sector to drive meaningful change and growth. This development comes a year after Indielab announced the establishment of its dedicated games division, which aims to empower small game creators by helping them unlock their commercial and growth potential.
