Nintendo Opts Out of E3 2023

In a significant development, renowned game developer Nintendo has revealed that it will not be participating in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. The company's decision was formally communicated to IGN, with Nintendo stating, "Our participation in events is determined on an individual basis, as we continually explore ways to connect with our fanbase. As this year's E3 does not fit our plans, we have decided not to take part." Nintendo also expressed its ongoing support for the event and the Entertainment Software Association, highlighting its commitment to the gaming community. This news emerges nearly a month after reports suggested that major industry players, including Xbox, Sony, and Nintendo, would have a limited presence at the event. However, Microsoft has since confirmed that it will host a physical showcase for its upcoming games this summer. E3 2023 marks a significant milestone, as it will be the first in-person event since 2019, following three years of digital showcases due to the pandemic. The event is scheduled to take place from June 13 to June 16 at the Los Angeles Convention Center, with ReedPop, the parent company of GamesIndustry.biz, at the helm of the organization.
