EA DICE Forms New Single-Player Development Team for Upcoming Battlefield Game
In a strategic move to enhance the future of the Battlefield series, EA DICE is establishing a new single-player development team to support Ridgeline Games in crafting a compelling single-player campaign. As one of the three EA studios tasked with shaping the series' future, DICE initially focused on the multiplayer aspect, while Ridgeline Games, led by Marcus Lehto, worked on the single-player component. Meanwhile, Ripple Effect, based in LA, is developing a distinct Battlefield experience. The expansion of DICE's team is aimed at assisting Ridgeline Games in creating an immersive single-player adventure. According to DICE VP and GM Rebecka Coutaz, "Building out our single-player team is a proactive step that provides our global teams with the necessary resources from the outset as we look to the next Battlefield experience." Coutaz emphasized the strengths and opportunities within the three global studios, each bringing unique franchise experiences. The collaboration is expected to yield a single-player campaign that engages players in innovative ways while staying true to the classic elements that define the Battlefield series. Marcus Lehto added, "By combining our vision with DICE's experience, we will create a single-player campaign that not only innovates but also remains faithful to the essence of Battlefield."
