Thunderful Group Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Studio Fizbin
Thunderful Group has finalized the acquisition of German-based game developer Studio Fizbin through its subsidiary Headup, with the terms of the deal remaining undisclosed. This strategic move marks Thunderful's eleventh acquisition to date and is notable for being the first time the company has acquired a studio it has previously collaborated with as a publisher. Studio Fizbin is recognized for its work on the 2021 title Say No! More, which was published by Thunderful, as well as its puzzle platform game Minute of Islands, released the same year. The studio is currently developing a new action roguelike project, codenamed Project Kokidon. As a result of the acquisition, Studio Fizbin, including its team of 20 members and offices in Berlin and Ludwigsburg, will operate under Headup. The intellectual property rights of Studio Fizbin will also be transferred to its new parent company. This acquisition is part of Thunderful's broader expansion strategy, which has seen the company acquire several game developers and related firms in recent years, including Coatsink, Jumpship, Early Morning Studio, and Robot Teddy. In a separate announcement, Thunderful Group revealed that its subsidiary Amo Toys, a distributor in the toy industry, has acquired assets from TecTeam Scandinavia Holding, another distribution group. These acquired operations are expected to be fully integrated into Amo Toys by the end of the current quarter.
