Blumhouse Launches New Gaming Arm
Blumhouse, a prominent film and television production company, has announced the establishment of its gaming division, Blumhouse Games. This new subsidiary will focus on developing and publishing horror-themed games for various platforms, including mobile devices, consoles, and PCs. The division aims to collaborate with independent game developers on projects with budgets of less than $10 million. At the helm of Blumhouse Games are President Zach Wood, who brings over 25 years of experience in the gaming industry with notable credits such as The Unfinished Swan, Bound, and Prey: Mooncrash, and Chief Financial Officer Don Sechler, who previously worked at Sony for nine years as vice president of global head of business operations, planning, and strategy. According to Blumhouse President Abhijay Prakash, the approach presented by Wood and Sechler aligned with Blumhouse's model, making it the ideal starting point for the company's foray into interactive entertainment.
