Hogwarts Legacy Retains Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts for Second Week

For the second consecutive week, Hogwarts Legacy has secured the number one position in the UK boxed charts, albeit with a significant 66% decline in sales. According to data from GfK, this drop is relatively modest for a major game in its second week. Following a highly successful launch weekend, Hogwarts Legacy has become the fastest-selling Harry Potter game, with its launch sales surpassing those of Elden Ring by 88% in the UK. Excluding the Call of Duty and FIFA series, it is the fastest-selling video game since Red Dead Redemption 2. The game's digital sales data for its second week will be released later. With upcoming PS5, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions scheduled for later this year, Hogwarts Legacy is likely to remain a chart-topper throughout the year. Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line debuted at number 16, narrowly ahead of Tales of Symphonia: Remastered at number 17. EA's new IP, Wild Hearts, entered the physical retail charts at number 26, while Wanted: Dead by 110 Industries ranked 34th. Meanwhile, FIFA 23 and God of War Ragnarok swapped places, with FIFA 23 at number two and God of War Ragnarok at number three, experiencing sales declines of 13% and 33%, respectively. The sales performance of God of War Ragnarok is closely tied to PS5 stock levels, as it is included in a PS5 hardware bundle. Mario Kart 8: Deluxe maintained its position at number four, with an 18% increase in sales, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 rose to number five, despite a 7% decline in sales.
