Supernova Capital Expands Portfolio with Acquisition of Mi-Clos Studio and Little Red Dog Games
Supernova Capital, a prominent equity firm, has announced the acquisition of game development studios Mi-Clos and Little Red Dog Games, further solidifying its presence in the industry. Following the acquisition, Supernova has made a substantial multi-million dollar investment in both studios, demonstrating its commitment to their growth and success. Mi-Clos, a French game developer renowned for its narrative-driven titles such as Sigma Theory and Out There, and Little Red Dog Games, a New York-based studio known for its work on Rogue State and Precipice, will both continue to operate under the publishing umbrella of Modern Wolf, which is also owned by Supernova Capital. Founded in 2018 by former Splash Damage executives Paul Wedgwood and Mark Morris, along with current CEO Richard Jolly, Supernova has established itself as a significant player in the gaming industry. For Mi-Clos CEO Michael Peiffert, the acquisition marks a significant milestone, having started the studio as a solo venture in 2010. Peiffert expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership, stating it represents a mutually beneficial opportunity for both parties. Similarly, Little Red Dog Games CEO Ryan Hewer welcomed the acquisition, highlighting the alignment of Supernova's vision with his studio's ambitions to undertake more complex and innovative projects.
