Savvy Games Group Pours $265 Million into Chinese Esports Company VSPO
Chinese esports organization VSPO has secured a substantial investment of $265 million from Savvy Games Group, a subsidiary of Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund. The acquisition is slated for completion at a future date, pending regulatory approvals and fulfillment of closing conditions. This significant investment will enable VSPO to broaden its global operations, with a particular emphasis on cultivating the mobile esports landscape in Saudi Arabia. According to VSPO's CEO, Dino Ying, this partnership marks an exciting milestone in the global esports industry, and the company is thrilled to collaborate with Savvy Games Group to drive sector growth worldwide. The agreement represents a pivotal commercial collaboration between China, the world's largest esports market, and Saudi Arabia, as the kingdom strives to become a premier gaming and esports hub under its Vision 2030 initiative. Previously, in September 2022, Savvy Games Group unveiled an investment strategy aimed at further developing the country's gaming and esports sector, with a staggering allocation of SAR 142 billion, equivalent to $37.8 billion.
