Scenario, a San Francisco-based technology firm, has successfully raised $6 million in funding as it prepares to launch the early access version of its groundbreaking Gen AI Engine. The investment round was spearheaded by Play Ventures, with additional contributions from prominent investors such as Anorak Ventures, VR Fund, and Founders Inc, as well as notable industry figures including Oculus co-founder Brendan Iribe, Twitch co-founder Justin Kan, and former Blizzard executive Hamilton Chu. The Gen AI Engine is designed to revolutionize game development by providing artists with the capability to generate consistent game art using artificial intelligence tailored to their unique style. By uploading a set of images that define the visual elements of a game or project, the Gen AI Engine rapidly learns and adapts to the artist's distinct graphic style, allowing them to produce an unlimited number of assets using simple text-based prompts. According to co-founder and CEO Emmanuel de Maistre, the potential of generative AI in game development is comparable to the impact of Photoshop on digital photography, emphasizing the importance of empowering digital artists to train their own AI generators and maintain control over their creative work.
