FIFA 23 Takes the Top Spot, Ending God of War Ragnarok's Reign

In a relatively slow week for UK boxed video game sales, FIFA 23 claimed the top position. According to GfK data, FIFA 23's sales declined by 20% compared to the previous week, yet it managed to surpass God of War Ragnarok, which saw a 38% drop in sales. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 maintained its third-place ranking despite a 15% decrease in sales, while Mario Kart 8: Deluxe remained at fourth place with a 22% decline. Nintendo Switch Sports moved up one spot to fifth, despite experiencing a 26% sales drop. The overall boxed game sales plummeted by 23% from the previous week. One Piece Odyssey, the first new release of the year, debuted at 14th place. A 'Clearance' sale by UK retailer GAME also influenced the charts, with Halo Wars 2 re-entering at 28th place after being priced under £3, and Ori and the Will of the Wisps appearing at 34th place following a price reduction to £5. Next week, Nintendo's Fire Emblem Engage is expected to compete for the top position.
