Chinese Authorities Grant Licenses to 44 Foreign Games for Local Distribution

The National Press and Publication Administration of China has issued publishing permits for 44 foreign games, allowing them to be released within the country. According to a report by Reuters, notable titles such as Nintendo's Pokemon Unite and Riot Games' Valorant are among the approved games. The list also includes several South Korean games, which had been subject to import restrictions in China since 2017. Furthermore, 84 domestic video games have received approval for release. This development comes after a period of licensing restrictions, which were eased in April 2022 when China lifted its nine-month ban on issuing publishing licenses, initially approving 45 games from companies like Baidu, XD Inc, and iDreamSky.
