UK Boxed Charts: Sonic Frontiers and Mario + Rabbids Reclaim Top Ten Spots
The UK boxed chart has seen minimal changes ahead of Christmas Day. FIFA 23 remains at the top with a 16% sales increase, followed by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which saw a 2% sales rise, and God of War: Ragnarok, with a 7% decline. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe holds steady at No. 4 with a 4% decrease, while Pokémon Violet and Nintendo Switch Sports maintain their positions with sales down 8% and flat, respectively. Sonic Frontiers has re-entered the Top Ten at No. 7, driven by price cuts that have brought the game below £32 in UK retail, with the Nintendo Switch version being the best-selling edition. Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope has also re-entered the charts at No. 9, following a 50% sales surge due to discounts that have reduced its price to around £30. The game's sales have more than tripled over the past two weeks. Its predecessor, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, remains a competitor, consistently ranking in the Top 20 due to its low price point of under £15, currently sitting at No. 15. Recent releases have seen mixed results, with The Callisto Protocol dropping out of the Top 20 to No. 22 after a 25% sales decline, Need for Speed: Unbound rising to No. 28 with a 4% sales increase, and Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion plummeting 22 places to No. 30 with a 76% sales drop in its second week.
