Brawl Stars Ditches Loot Boxes in Favor of Guaranteed Rewards
In a significant update, Supercell has decided to eliminate loot boxes from Brawl Stars, introducing a more transparent and predictable reward system. As announced in a recent video, the mobile gaming studio will replace loot boxes with deterministic rewards, ensuring players know exactly what they will receive. According to game lead Frank Keienburg, this change aims to create a fairer and more exciting experience, providing clear goals for players to work towards. The update, which launched on December 12, automatically claims all previously unlocked but unclaimed rewards and introduces a new reward track called the Starr Road, as well as an in-game currency called Credits. This move marks a substantial overhaul of Brawl Stars' reward systems, offering a more straightforward and engaging experience for players. Notably, Brawl Stars surpassed $1 billion in lifetime revenue in 2021, solidifying its position as a leading mobile game.
