God of War Ragnarok Reclaims Top Spot in UK Boxed Charts Amid PS5 Stock Arrival
God of War Ragnarok by Sony has regained its position at the top of the UK boxed charts, driven by a 32% week-over-week sales increase. The game's resurgence to the number one spot can be attributed to the recent availability of more PS5 consoles in UK retail stores, as well as its inclusion in a PS5 hardware bundle. Last week's chart leader, FIFA 23, has dropped to second place with an 18% decline in sales, while Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has slipped to third place with a 14% decrease. Pokémon Violet has moved up to fourth place despite experiencing a 12% drop in sales, swapping positions with Mario Kart 8: Deluxe, which fell to fifth place with a 32% decline. The recent prominence of Mario Kart in Switch hardware bundles over the Black Friday and Cyber Monday period contributed to this shift. Cuphead, released by Iam8bit, is the only new entry in the charts, debuting at number 18. The Callisto Protocol, last week's major new release, has seen a significant 69% drop in sales, falling from sixth to twelfth place. Need for Speed: Unbound, which had a disappointing first week, has dropped from seventeenth to nineteenth place, albeit with a relatively modest 13% decline in sales. Just Dance 2023 has risen three places to eleventh, driven by a 17% improvement in sales. Furthermore, six Mario games have seen an increase in sales, including Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Mario Party Superstars, Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, and Mario Strikers Charged, with sales increases ranging from 6% to 49%. Luigi's Mansion 3 has also experienced a 10% increase in sales, rounding out a successful week for the Mario franchise.
