UK Games Industry Sees Decline in Job Openings in November
The UK games sector witnessed a continued decline in job vacancies in November, as indicated by a recent report. The study, conducted by Games Jobs Live, which tracks job openings on company websites, reveals that the industry has seen a consistent decrease in available positions since June. November recorded the lowest number of job openings in the past 12 months, with a decrease in listings across various disciplines, including art, production, and localization. While cities like London, Guilford, and Leamington Spa saw a drop in job postings, Cambridge, Edinburgh, and Manchester experienced an increase. The report suggests that the decline in job openings can be attributed to mobile studios filling or removing roles. Additionally, there was a notable increase in junior positions being advertised, a trend that was also observed in the previous month.
