Splatoon 3 Surpasses 3 Million Sales in Japan Within Two Months

In Japan, Splatoon 3 maintained its dominance in the physical game charts for October, as reported by Famitsu. Following its release on September 9, the game continued to perform well, selling an additional 492,566 copies from September 26 to October 30. As of October 30, the total physical sales of Splatoon 3 in Japan have exceeded 3.23 million copies. The rest of the charts saw several new entries in October. Persona 5 Royal debuted at number three on the Switch, selling over 58,000 units by October 30, despite its late release on October 21. Nier: Automata - The End of Yorha Edition entered the charts at number four, with Square Enix's Nintendo Switch port of the 2017 RPG selling over 48,000 copies between September 26 and October 30. Bayonetta 3 debuted at number six, with 41,285 copies sold, also launching late in the month on October 28. Further down the top ten, FIFA 23 on PS4 entered the charts at number nine, with 33,220 units sold throughout the month, while the FIFA 23 Legacy Edition on Switch sold 24,430 copies. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 charted at number 15 for PS4 and number 21 for PS5, with combined sales of over 42,000 units. The Nintendo Switch remained the best-selling format in October, accounting for 74.7% of the market and 1.3 million software copies sold. PlayStation saw a boost in sales due to the release of FIFA and Call of Duty, accounting for 9.6% of physical sales, up from 3% in September.
