Global Top Round Expands with New Mergers and Acquisitions Division

Global Top Round has introduced a dedicated mergers and acquisitions arm, building on its expertise as a startup games studio accelerator. This new division will specialize in securing funding, including equity and debt financing, as well as providing strategic acquisition advice. Additionally, it will guide companies through the process of selling their studios in entirety. The M&A division, led by Jacques Benchetrit, will focus on transactions valued between $10 million and $250 million. This development is part of Global Top Round's broader expansion within the gaming sector, following the launch of its seed program earlier in the year, which offers investments ranging from $150,000 to $300,000 to early-stage studios. The establishment of this M&A division coincides with a wave of consolidation in the gaming industry, marked by significant deals such as Microsoft's proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion, Take-Two's $12.7 billion purchase of Zynga, and Sony's acquisition of Bungie for $3.6 billion, among others.
