Wildlife Studios Introduces 8-Bit Bandits, a New Mobile Gaming Venture with Veteran Developers
Wildlife Studios has announced its latest collaboration, unveiling the newly formed 8-Bit Bandits studio. Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, 8-Bit Bandits was co-founded by renowned game developers Stephen Jarrett, formerly the creative lead for Crash Bandicoot: On the Run, and Robert Woodburn, a seasoned senior producer. Jarrett's extensive experience in game design includes his work on iconic titles such as Syndicate Wars and Theme Hospital, as well as a range of licensed games for prominent brands like Harry Potter, The Incredibles, Power Rangers, and Pirates of the Caribbean. Woodburn, on the other hand, spent most of the last decade at King, where he played a pivotal role in overseeing the company's global review process. "Our partnership with Wildlife Studios provides us with the ideal environment to focus on crafting engaging gaming experiences," Jarrett noted. "With the support of experienced mobile game developers like Wildlife Studios, we gain the creative freedom and autonomy we need, along with a robust publishing platform and expert distribution capabilities. There's a clear alignment of values between our companies, centered on what makes a great game and a great studio." The primary objective of 8-Bit Bandits is to develop innovative, globally accessible mobile social experiences that evoke the nostalgia of classic couch co-op gameplay. "In recent years, even multiplayer games have started to feel isolating and lonely," Woodburn observed. "By partnering with Wildlife Studios, we can concentrate on creating games that allow people to connect, play, and forge lasting memories with friends and family." 8-Bit Bandits represents the latest addition to Wildlife Studios' growing portfolio of development studios, which includes Never Forget Games, SuperWow! Games, Foxbear Games, Playabit, Moon Tavern, and Stellar Core, all launched within the past two years.
