Meta Expands VR Portfolio with Acquisition of Three Gaming Studios

In a significant move to bolster its virtual reality capabilities, Meta has announced the acquisition of Camouflaj, Armature Studio, and Twisted Pixel during its Connect Keynote 2022. This development coincides with the unveiling of the Meta Quest Pro. Founded in 2011, Camouflaj is known for developing the critically acclaimed adventure title République for consoles and PC, and has collaborated with Marvel Entertainment, Endeavor One, and Sony Interactive Entertainment to launch Marvel's Iron Man VR on the Meta Quest 2. Armature Studio, established in 2008, boasts an impressive portfolio, including Recore and Where the Heart Leads, and recently launched Resident Evil 4 on the Meta Quest 2. Twisted Pixel, which opened its doors in 2006, has developed a range of engaging titles such as 'Splosion Man, Comic Jumper, and Path of the Warrior. These acquisitions mark the latest step in Meta's ongoing efforts to expand its VR division, following the purchase of Ready at Dawn and Sanzaru Games in 2020, and the addition of Downpour Interactive and BigBox VR last year.
