Activision Earns $1 Billion from Call of Duty: Mobile

Following the release of this article, an Activision spokesperson clarified that the company's annual report indicated consumer spending on Call of Duty: Mobile exceeded $1 billion in 2021 alone. The $1 billion figure represents earnings for Activision and Tencent, based on developer payout data from AppMagic, excluding the 30% mobile platform cut. Originally, Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty: Mobile generated over $1 billion in revenue. Launched in October 2019, the game earned an estimated $480 million within its first year. According to AppMagic data, CoD: Mobile has accumulated $606 million on iOS and $424 million on Android. The US leads in terms of player spending, with $554 million, followed by Japan at $138 million, Germany at $32 million, Brazil at $30 million, and the UK at $27 million. Activision Blizzard's 2021 annual report noted over 650 million global downloads for CoD: Mobile.
