AGDQ 2023 Moves Online Due to Florida's Anti-Trans Laws and COVID-19 Policies

The upcoming AGDQ 2023 speedrunning marathon will be held exclusively online, as announced by Awesome Games Done Quick. This decision was made in response to Florida's recent introduction of anti-trans legislation, as well as the state's handling of COVID-19 safety protocols. In a statement on Twitter, the organization expressed concerns over the state's disregard for COVID-19 safety and its hostile stance towards the LGBTQ+ community, including the enactment of the 'Don't Say Gay' law. As a result, AGDQ 2023 will take place virtually from January 8 to January 15. Earlier this year, Awesome Games Done Quick successfully raised $3.4 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation.
