THQ Nordic Unveils Alone in the Dark Revamp and New South Park Title

THQ Nordic's Digital Showcase 2022 brought significant announcements, including the reboot of Alone in the Dark. Developed by Pieces Interactive, a Swedish game studio, this new iteration is described as a 'reimagination' of the original, incorporating elements from the first three games into a novel storyline. Mikael Hedberg, known for his work on horror titles like Somo and Amnesia: The Dark Descent, will serve as the creative director. This move comes after THQ acquired the Alone in the Dark IP from Atari in 2018. Additionally, THQ Nordic revealed a new South Park game, though details were scarce, with only the logo of South Park Digital Studios being showcased. Other notable announcements included Wreckreation, an open-world racing game by Three Fields Entertainment, SpongeBob SquarePants - The Cosmic Shake from the developers of SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated, and AEW: Fight Forever, the inaugural wrestling game from Yuke's, the original developer of WWE games before parting ways with 2K.
